She stared at the ruby, glimmering in red, within the museum. She wasn’t supposed to see the color, she knew. She knew that such a thing was what she was programmed to not see. Everything had to be plain, drab, boring, the same. The woman next to her, who looked utterly similar, glanced at the jewel and passed it without a second thought. Karen realized that she was the only one with this gift, if she could even call it that. It was beautiful, yes, but it was frightening. Surely she would be cast out of society if others knew about this. But the red within the ruby was the only color she could see, and oh, how Karen wanted it. She wasn’t a dark character, though if she wanted to be, she could. She was clever and able-minded, strong and a big believer within the societies rules. A major one was, though, no color- and she was at war with herself. Turning to yet another woman who seemed to be her clone, she gestured towards the jewel and said quietly, “What a nice shade of silver!” The woman nodded to her, apparently agreeing, though did not seem phased by the fact that the ruby was actually red. She couldn’t see it. Of course she couldn’t see it.Karen turned to take one last glance at the ruby, and then pivoted on her heel and left the museum. Come curfew, she would steal that ruby. Oh, she knew it was wrong, and she was such a strong believer within the rules… but she had to have it. The color was appealing, so appealing that she felt it necessary to sin just to get it. She shook her head and remembered a preaching from Minister Paul, “Color does not exist, because it will make you wish to do evil. To cut off her hair for it being such a lovely color. To steal the beautiful thing upon her neck because the colors would look better on you. Color, my friends, is wrong…” And he continued on with that lesson, one of the first lessons she learned that was engraved within her mind. But the preaching became the last thing on her mind as she entered her room, which told her hello. “Hello,” she replied back. “I’m going out.” The room was quiet, neither denying her nor approving of it either. It knew very well of Karens temper, and it also knew that Karen was a well behaved woman within society, and that she was well liked and trusted. It was within the copy of her résumé she had to give the apartment owner in order to live in this particular apartment. She dressed in black, covering her face as she took off the ring which gave her location out. If the room asked, she would say she forgot or there was something wrong with it. That should give her a half hour or so. She grabbed a knife and put it in her pocket, and then quickly burst out of the room and went to the museum. She moved slowly towards the museum, now that no one was out on the streets, well, she had to be extra cautious. The hover cams would see her and suspect her for doing something wrong, which she was. Approaching the museum, she went in through a secret exit she had seen on her way out. She made it through without an issue, carefully stepping over red lasers that were also visible to her now. She smirked, prepared to steal the jewel, but then, “STOP!”

Wow, I really like this. I like the idea especially, it's very unique, and it's well written. I'm curious about the ending. I wanted more and I wanted to know what happening next.
The way she used her words and described the jewel made the reader hooked on to know more. It was an excellent piece of writing

I thought this idea was extremly unique. The way she wrote about everything being bland and how the girl saw ruby kind of reminde dme of the book, the giver. I thought it was really interesting and I wanted to know what happened next.
